Nicholas Kirkwood Teams Up with White Rabbit for New NFT Collection
British footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood has made his first move into the metaverse. Last week, Kirkwood teamed up with metaverse-native character White Rabbit to launch a series of mind-bending NFT avatars and combat boots on The Dematerialsed. DMAT is the top luxury digital fashion retailer in the world and is responsible for onboarding top designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Rebecca Minkoff into the rising industry.
The Nicholas Kirkwood x White Rabbit collection consists of six NFTs, each with a different supply. The priciest and most exclusive of the collection are the one-of-one Cut Crystal Combat Boots which sold out immediately upon launch for a ticket of 5000 euros.
Each NFT is limited to 10 and offers a handful of perks to its owners including:
- Exclusive NFT airdrops from both Decentraland (DCL) and Dematerialised
- A VIP invite to a DCL owners party
- A one on one meet and greet design session with Nicholas himself
- A choice of a physical pair of Nick Kirkwood shoes
All NFTs also come with a a 3D asset (.usdz file), 2D collectibles (.pngs), and a turntable video (.mp4).
The collection serves as a perfect example of the way that digital fashion can stretch far outside a garment or accessory itself. Unlike traditional clothing, digital assets can offer utility and access to experiences in both the virtual and IRL worlds.
